Fat & Cholesterol Content of Foods


This handout lists the total fat, saturated fat and cholesterol in a common serving of 265 foods in eight categories including meat, fish, dairy products, fruits, vegetables, breads, condiments, snacks, desserts and selected restaurant foods. Trans fats plus saturated fats are listed for restaurant foods. Also included are tips for selecting lower fat foods in each category. A chart calculates the number of grams for 20-35% total fat and 5-10% saturated fat at four different calorie levels.
