Nutrition Guide for Weight Control


This handout uses red, yellow and green colored columns to show how to eat a nutritionally sound diet while making lower calorie choices. It offers guidance on how many servings are needed from each food group at 1200, 1600, 2000 and 2400 calorie levels. It lists specific foods within each group by low, moderate and high calorie choices and offers tips and suggestions for cutting calories. In addition to the main food groups, listings are given for fats & condiments, beverages, snacks & desserts and fast foods.
